Avatar of Ankush Das Ankush Das

Skyrim is an epic RPG game which isn’t going to die – no matter how big or new game titles arrive. We’ve even discussed the best Skyrim mods available for the game which keeps you hooked into the game. Also, with the recent reveal of The Elder Scrolls 6, more players will jump into the Skyrim bandwagon in the process of trying out the older prequels to the game series. But, what if – you’ve already tried it and looking for similar games like Skyrim.

Fear not, whether you just want to keep yourself occupied till The Elder Scrolls 6 release or if you simply want to explore more awesome games like Skyrim, we have the right alternatives listed in this article.

Note: The games listed are in no particular order of ranking.

1. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Witcher 3 Wild Hunt

What’s Good About It? As they say (and no one would ever disagree), that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is one of the best games ever made in the gaming industry. You’ll be playing the role of a highly trained monster slayer for hire while searching for a child of prophecy in a vast open world. You need to go through every major quest (and side quests) in order to increase your skills and powers – else defeating the monsters will be impossible. If you don’t want to go on a quest, you can simply explore. This game is a masterpiece in every possible aspect – be it the combat system, NPCs, graphic details, and so on. It’s definitely one of the best games like Skyrim for PC or console.
  • Genre: RPG, Open World.
  • Our Rating for This Game: 5/5.
  • Platforms Available: Windows/Linux (Steam), Xbox, PlayStation.

2. Middle Earth: Shadow Of Mordor

Shadow of Mordor

What’s Good About It? Shadow of Mordor boasts one of the best combat mechanics ever encountered in a game. The protagonist is a ranger who’s killed by Sauron along with his family. The bright lord (Celebrimbor) resurrects you from the dead and binds to your soul to equip you with a power you’ve never known. Along with a great “Lord Of Rings” inspired story, it features an impressive Nemesis system – which other games should totally copy. You can also try the sequel to this game (Shadow Of War) – but it isn’t as impressive as the first one.
  • Genre: Open World, RPG.
  • Our Rating for This Game: 5/5.
  • Platforms Available: Windows (Steam), Xbox, PlayStation.

3. Dark Souls II or Dark Souls III

Dark Souls III

What’s Good About It? The Dark Souls series is popular for being a tough game to complete while packed with intensive action. Specifically, the Dark Souls II/III is one of the RPGs like Skyrim – if you are into for the action it offers. I wouldn’t recommend you to jump directly to Dark Souls III – but many believe that Dark Souls II was the weakest link in the series. If you need to play the series in order, you may go ahead – but if that’s not your usual style – I’ll suggest you try Dark Souls III. Additionally, the game supports co-op experience. So, if you have a friend to play with on PC – it should be one of the pc games like Skyrim.

What’s Good About It? It’s the time when the gods have abandoned the world – what follows next – is scary. You may be the only hope to the humanity.
