5 Reasons Why One-page Website is Great for Your Business

For some years now there has been a trend of websites consisting of only one page. The so-called one-page or single-page websites are popular with companies that focus on just a product or a single service.

If business owners want to consider this type of design for their website, the first thing to think of is the content. That is because they will have to adapt it to the website without traditional About or any other pages. This unique design is recommended for landing pages, portfolio pages, or event pages.

The truth is that the online business world keeps on changing and evolving. Another moving part is the type of web hosting for small business. One thing is that it has to be cheap, and there are small business hosting alternatives. Apart from the low cost, these hosting options have to provide diversity to choose from – either shared hosting, VPS, or dedicated hosting -, and also to offer established CMS (Content Management System).

There are plenty of ways web hosting interacts with the online business, and it is really important to choose the right for the user experience.

The same key factor – user experience – has influenced the one-page website trend in the past years. And given that it has since gained a lot of ground, it is important to take a look at the multitude of reasons why one-page is good for the business.

Here are five main reasons:

Simplicity

One strong reason for using single-page websites is that visitors receive all they need on just one page. This way, the experience is very simple and no need to go through other pages, to miss on something or have difficult navigation. It all happens just a scroll away.

Also, from the business point of view, it is all goal driven and just straight to the product or service it intends to familiarize the user with.

Another great advantage of being on one page is that scrolling through the website will be like a journey for users. Because being simple and single-paged doesn’t mean being cut short and boring – who would want that?

Mobile Friendly

Having only one page translates into very small changes to the design, so these websites are very mobile-friendly. This means being able to access the page from virtually everywhere, so the business has no boundaries because of the device types.

The template and the design are very responsive, so the webpage is much easier to navigate because of the uniformity. There are no different tabs to click on, thus looking good not just on mobile devices, but on all devices, pretty much similar to a mobile app.

User Engagement

Having all the information literally on the same page, that means getting the visitors’ attention. This way, the user engagement is improved and you are likely to fend their boredom and lack of patience.

Put it simple: When you have just one page, communication with the visitor is closer than in the case of regular websites, because all they see there is just one page display. Captivating a visitor or potential customer is easier if all the story develops just by scrolling.

Storytelling

And this is true: One-page websites have pleasant user experience and really tell a story through their flow. And that enables website owners to control the way users consume the information.

With a one-page website, the users will skip the page skipping part, so there are considerably fewer disruptions. You can literally lead the visitors to the content and to a linear story that is natural to read. Thus, the focus on content is enhanced.

Easy to Maintain and to Build and also Cost Efficient

No need to say that this kind of website is much easier to build and maintain, and it also is much cheaper. In fact, it doesn’t get any easier than that. Because whatever needs to be fixed or modified, it all happens on just one page.

Also, having to put less time and effort into the actual creation of the website means considerably reduced costs.
