Different Types and Sizes of Gaming Monitors

Nowadays, technology is used widely by people in their daily lives. With the pandemic going on the world over, technology has been a great help. People can buy food, clothes, necessities, and other things they need online. It also has a significant impact on jobs, schools, and especially for people who are into gaming. Other than a CPU required to use a computer or laptop, the PC monitor is one of the essential parts. There is a wide range of PC monitors you can choose from, especially gaming monitors. Like other things, gaming PC monitors have different types, sizes, specs, panels, and resolutions that you need to consider when choosing.

3 Types of Gaming Monitors

  1. TN (Twisted Nematic). This monitor is one of the most common types of gaming monitor. It has a faster response time that you won’t notice the color distortion because of its lower color reproduction. Plus, the brightness and contrast can change on what your position is while looking at the screen. That is also one of the reasons why professional gamers are using this type of monitor.
  2. VA (Vertical Alignment). This has the best contrast out of the three because it gives an intense shade of black. Its response time is not that good with the other two and has some delays, but it provides more realistic details and colors. It is not advisable to use this for hardcore players, but if you play casually, you can still use it.
  3. IPS (In-Plane Switching). It is used commonly because of its consistent and exact colors. It does not have the same contrast as the VA type. Its response time is at the intermediate level, but there is no problem watching on different angles because you can see it. The only concern with this type of monitor is that you will see the lights in the corners.

Different Sizes

These are the types of gaming monitors you can choose from that may fit your taste. Of course, the sizes can vary depending on the brand and type you choose, especially since curved gaming monitors are available. The dimensions are mainly from 23 inches (1080p) to 49 inches (5120×1440), and they can all be different in resolution. You can also click here for checking monitor size for gamers so you can see more information on the resolution of each size. Moreover, people found out that they cannot use 1920x1080p on a 25-inch monitor. And that 1440p is good for 27-inch, and 4K is suitable for 27-inch to 43-inch depending on choice. Do not forget to calculate if it will fit your computer table or not, to make sure you will get the correct one.

Conclusion

Whether you’re a casual or a professional gamer, you will have an option to choose what suits you. For example, for e-sports gamers, you can use 24 inches monitor, while you can get 27 inches for multiplatform gaming. Also, if you are more into console gaming, you can try the 32 inches. But since technology is still evolving, you can expect more upgraded gaming monitors to come.
